Social Workers

In my world there are NO BAD KIDS.
Just impressionable, conflicted young people wrestling with emotions & impulses, trying
to communicate their feelings & needs the only way they know how.” - Janet Lansbury

WHO are School Social Workers?
Alpha School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals and certified social workers. As part of the educational team, Alpha School Social Workers offer an on-site mental health perspective that is integral to providing quality, individualized care. Alpha School Social Workers provide services related to students' social, emotional and life adjustment to school and/or society. One of the keys to successful interventions for at-risk youth is making appropriate connections to resources in the community.

Alpha School Social Workers communicate with all service providers for each student and when needed, make referrals for services such as family and individual therapy, psychiatric care, and mentoring. In addition to acting as a liaison to services in the community, Alpha School Social Workers provide support to students and their families. They meet frequently with students to problem solve personal issues and conduct specialized skill training. They also provide support and education to the families of Alpha students. Alpha School Social Workers hope is for everyone to work together to promote and support students' academic and social success.
